Schedule: Thursdays, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Tuition: $300 per student, per 6-week session

At Oak & Arrow Academy, our History & Science Learning Pod brings learning to life through a unique combination of history, geography, marine biology, nature studies, hands-on science, art, living books, outdoor exploration, and Christian discipleship.
Rather than separating subjects into isolated lessons, students discover how history, geography, science, nature, and faith connect together.
History & Geography
History is taught by Shanna Springer using BiblioPlan, a Christian history curriculum that allows students of different ages to study the same historical period together at developmentally appropriate levels.
Students will explore significant people, places, cultures, discoveries, and events through engaging lessons, living books, maps, geography, discussion, art, and hands-on projects.
Our studies encourage students to understand not only what happened in history, but where events took place, why they mattered, and how they shaped the world we live in today.
Science & Nature Studies
Science and nature studies are led by Dr. Geoff Trager, Ph.D., Marine Biologist & Ecologist.
Students will explore topics such as:

Marine biology and Southwest Florida ecosystems

Wildlife, birds, insects, butterflies, bees, plants, and fungi

Habitats, ecology, and relationships between living things

Scientific observation and investigation

Nature journaling and individual research

Hands-on experiments and activities

Outdoor exploration and field-based learning

Stewardship and appreciation of God’s creation
Dr. Geoff encourages students to become curious investigators—asking questions, observing carefully, researching their interests, and discovering their own God-given talents, passions, and areas of interest.
A One-Room Schoolhouse Approach
Our multi-age learning environment is inspired by the traditional one-room schoolhouse, where younger and older students learn alongside one another.
Lessons and activities are adapted according to age and ability, allowing younger students to participate through exploration and hands-on discovery while older students are challenged with deeper discussion, research, leadership, and independent work.
With enrollment limited to 10 students, instructors can build meaningful relationships with each child and provide individualized guidance.

Our goal is not simply to help students memorize information, but to help them explore, discover, ask questions, think critically, develop their God-given gifts, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
